AIPAC tente de miner le processus de paix israélo-palestinien

Is AIPAC Circulating Letters to Undermine Mideast Peace Again?
Special Briefing on Middle East Peace Process

Commentaire de SOTT:
The impact will be felt greater on Hamas, not Saudi Arabia, who haven't recognized Israel per se. (Israel launched its invasion of Lebanon shortly after Hamas agreed to a two state solution) . This comes as Israel has "declared war" on the Gazan population led by Hamas, who successfully defended against a US/Israel backed Fatah coup last spring. This also follows Hamas's call for a halt to all rocket attacks against Israel, most of which are probably False Flag attacks by "previously unknown" Islamic groups. It follows the usual pattern highlighted before here on SOTT:

(1) peace talks/Israeli instability/international pressure on Israel

(2) a suicide bombing (or a rocket attack into an uninhabited area or empty space)

(3) some sort of Israeli action

(4) abandoning of the "peace process" at step (1)

Imagine if a Palestinian lobby were able to circulate a letter among congress demanding that Israel recognize Palestine's "right to exist' under internationally agreed upon borders before any peace talks could begin.

According to Mearsheimer and Walt AIPACs tactics of circulating letters to congress dates back decades:

The power of the Israeli Lobby is legendary on Capitol Hill. During the 1970s, when Gerald Ford was president, both he and Kissinger ordered that weapons shipments to Israel be stopped, hoping to force Israel to accede to Ford's wishes during a set of peace negotiations. The Israeli Lobby circulated a letter to Ford, threatening him with unspecified political consequences, signed by 76 U.S. Senators.
